  Four Seasons Coming Together

By Cassidy Berendzen

This Homecoming of 2007, students were all pepped up after a week of supporting their individual classes. The freshmen were summer, the sophomores were spring, the juniors were fall and the seniors were winter, but at the assembly we were all one student body, which was nice for the many alumni, who showed up, to see.

The assembly started off with a bang from the drums, and the students filed in from their classrooms behind the drum line on the way to the assembly. When they walked in they noticed the great decorations such as the balloons and all the signs. As soon as the freshmen came in, the upperclassmen started giving them the “freshman hand”. The assembly started out with prayer and honored Jordan Ordway, class of 2008.

To get the school pumped up, the cheerleaders gave a fantastic performance, and then the dance team followed adding to the excitement. Of course they threw out candy which added to the noise. Sprit was great by then.

Then the Student Council honored all the sports for their accomplishments. Next they called down a few select senior boys and they lined up to get their kiss from the cheerleaders, however, they were blindfolded and instead of getting a kiss from a cheerleader, they got a kiss from their mom.

After that, more seniors lined up to answer questions about their mothers. However if they got it wrong they got pie in their face. The questions were, “Who was their mother’s high school sweetheart?” and “What is her favorite movie?” One senior got both questions right but he still got pie in his face.

The champion from last year’s musical chairs, Coach Register, joined Coach Andy and Coach Phil Pitts, along with several other students in a very competitive game of musical chairs. By the time the game got going, students did not want to let go of the chairs. Finally it came down to Coach Andy and a junior, the junior won.

Then the drum line gave a stellar performance that got the crowd dancing. Finally the baby picture winners were announced and the costumes as well. Seniors ended up winning the coin wars.

In the end, the football captains gave inspiring speeches and ending the pep rally was the band with lively music. All in all I would say this was a great pep rally.
