Movie Review: Prom Night
By Krista Crider
Prom Night was a timely, thrilling film that especially appealed to those who just experienced the event in their own lives. Brittany Snow did a fantastic job at playing Donna, the main role that Jaime Lee Curtis played in the original film, and her supporting cast, led by Kellan Lutz (Accepted, Stick It) and Scott Porter (Friday Night Lights, Music and Lyrics), gave the audience someone to identify with if they hadn’t actually had a teacher who stalked them and killed their parents.
The movie did a great job of keeping you on your toes; from start to finish you were afraid that the sadistic teacher would jump out of nowhere to complete his task. Nothing was ever quite what you expected, however, and even though you might have been able to sense something was about to happen, it didn’t, and when you finally started to relax a little bit, it did.
All in all, if you are one who is unaffected by these kinds of things, I’m sure you’ll be fine, but if you are faint of heart, as I am, this movie will have you avoiding dark areas and traveling with a group for weeks to come.
