Welcome New Members! By Ashley Vaught   This school year the Helias High School Journalism Club has a total of 63 members with 32 new members – the most students the Journalism Club has had in the past three years. I asked Courtney Schnieders, a sophomore, why she joined the Journalism Club, and this is what she had to say:  “I was looking for something new and interesting to do this year.  I really enjoy writing; and when I found out that Helias had a Journalism Club, I was ready to join!” The officers this year are the following:  President Molly Hayes, senior; Vice President Justin Mathes, senior; Secretary Ashley Vaught, junior; Chief Editor Becca Maples, senior; Assistant Editor Kylie Nolla, sophomore; Chief Photographer Kyle Stover, senior; Assistant Photographer Grant Hoehn, junior; Chief Designer Patrick Pollock, senior; Assistant Designer Jordan Wisch, junior; Chief Artist Callie Norment, junior; and Assistant Artist Andrew Crocker. Over the past three years the Journalism Club has published online papers; this is the first year there will be a print copy for the whole school. Over the summer, the club had a donor who helped accomplish this remarkable feat. A copy will be given to each student and faculty member when the first print paper comes out in late October or November. When everyone thinks of a school newspaper, they think of eight-by-eleven-inch copies stapled together; our newspaper will be in the format of an actual newspaper.
