  Crusader Softball: Together and Apart

By Danielle Tobar

With the new school year comes the beginning of fall sports. The Helias softball team has had considerable changes since last year with the deployment of Coach Dan Campbell.  This year the team is led by Coach Bryndyn Crutcher, who has much experience coaching softball and is more than qualified for the job. Assisting him is his wife, “Coach T.”

The team has made a big effort to keep Coach Campbell involved, as he is still part of the team. Recently Governor Blunt delivered a package of pictures and gifts to him. Sent were pictures of the team with National Guard Humvees, a signed softball, and words of encouragement. The team’s motto for the year is “together.”  This can be seen on players’ and coaches’ wristbands. They are a constant reminder of their unity as a team and their unity with Coach Campbell in Kosovo, who is constantly in their thoughts and prayers.  The team is hoping to make him proud with a great season.
