About
Helias Sports Medicine program started in 2003 with two students and has grown to nearly twenty students. Helias Student Athletic Trainers develop skills in recognition, prevention and care of athletic injuries. They are also instructed in the proper documentation of athletic injuries, ordering supplies and the maintenance of an athletic training room. They assist the Head Athletic Trainer and other licensed athletic trainers from St. Mary’s Sports Medicine in the coverage of sporting events and practices at Helias. The student athletic trainers have a tradition of excelling in the classroom with a combined GPA of over 3.4. They are a valuable addition to the outstanding sports program at Helias High School.
